October 14-October 31
Group textile art exhibition of interactive and socially conscious work.
“Unfolding” brings the work of six textile artists together to exist in a shared space. Payton Barronian, Krista Cibis, Taylor Leigh, Mo Murshed, Matt Perez and Vo Vo utilize soft materials to present their own unique perspectives inspired by their personal artistic motivations and individual backgrounds. Through collaborating on a group show, they hope to relocate a sense of connection both to each other and to the Portland art community at large, as the current pandemic has limited contact and dispersal of new artwork. They seek to recognize the immense value of featuring numerous artists to offer a rich assortment of contemporary textile work that reflects on this complex time from multiple vantage points. Each artist makes compelling work on their own, but there is something uniquely special about bringing their work together, especially during a time that requires distancing.
Saturdays 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
