An exhibition investigating contemporary fashion using traditional textile processes by local artists.

Sustainable Legacies is an exhibition featuring the work of local artists investigating contemporary fashion with traditional textile processes. Drawing on inspiration from their experiences abroad, they are reconnecting with ancestral textile arts and sustainable practices to re-envision what we wear.
Many of the featured artists draw inspiration from their experiences abroad, using global travel and research to reconnect with ancestral textile processes and sustainable practices. They investigate and preserve techniques that have been passed down through generations, often threatened by industrialization. This exchange is a critical part of their work, allowing them to create a dialogue between past and present, tradition and innovation. These artists are not simply recreating what came before; they are revitalizing and adapting these methods to create new, relevant work that champions a more sustainable future for the textile industry.
Featured artists include Oxana Ake, Emilia Barerra, Hazel Bloch, Evie Butler, Amali Casillas, Moriah Conkel, Lola Haynes, Leslie Melnyk, Sarah McCully-Posner, Suman Pant, Abeghe Watson, and Ruby Rose Wynne-Jones.
