October 10-November 1
“Feelin’ Myself” explores the idea of softness as texture/way of being/body.
“Feelin’ Myself” uses material to explore self acceptance through the lense of softness. In artist Sam Noel’s words, “Growing up fat, my softness has been observed, appreciated, and misused. I’m here to reclaim it. How does one accept the body they’re in? How does one remain soft in today’s society? What can we learn about our bodies from textiles?” The work shared allows the viewer to explore their own baggage surrounding their bodily experience, and in doing so creates conversations, and explores empathy.
100% of Feelin’ Myself is made up of recycled and reclaimed materials.
