*ONLINE* If you would like to receive a sewing kit with supplies for repairing clothes or household textiles while participating in the Facebook live event from home, please contact us using the above email by Monday, October 5th with your name and address so we can mail you a sewing kit. This will include: buttons, needles, thread, yarn, and patching fabric for you to mend or repair your clothing or household textiles objects like blankets, pillows, etc.
*IN PERSON* If you would like to attend the physically distanced in person event at the Albina Green Park located on the corner of North Albina and Sumner in Portland, this will be the headquarters for our event, please join us with your mask. We will have snacks, tables, chairs, and a tent set up if necessary where we can work on individual mending or participate in a larger community project.
Majik will facilitate conversations focused on community repair and words gathered from this activity will help lead us and shape the collaborative public installation component of this project. Mending instruction will be provided if needed in both online and in person events.
This PTM 2020 Distributed Community Project has been been awarded a project stipend for community impact and excellence made possible in part by a grant from the Multnomah County Cultural Coalition.
